Every time a company says privacy has to shrink so their product can grow, they're telling on themselves. They're saying the quiet part: their business model requires your data, and redesigning around that would cost money they'd rather keep.

Naomi nails it here. The barrier to adoption was never privacy. It's lazy architecture built on top of surveillance economics. You don't remove seatbelts to sell more cars.
