Perhaps we should begin by noting something so obvious that it seems to have gone unnoticed by far too many folks: reality is not actually under assault in any way, shape, or form. If you are someone who doubts this, take a moment to step away from your computer, or put down your phone (if you still possess the ability to do so) and go outside. Touch a tree or a brick, or talk to a human being. You will be astounded to learn, no doubt, that these things – the outside, trees and bricks, actual living human beings – still exist.
