A Wordpress prompt and a Love Island mention:

After 597 days, I dusted off my Wordpress blog and graced it with my presence.

What I like about Wordpress is its daily prompts. They get my creative juices flowing, and today was no different.

Today’s prompt asked, “What’s a chapter of your life you’d title ‘The Hard Years’ — and what got you through it?” For me that chapter was my rarely mentioned engagement that ended last year. It was an emotional and exhausting time that THANKFULLY did not result in a marriage or children…just two cats! Two cats that he brought into the relationship out of spite and existed the relationship without!

I now realize that I failed to answer the second part of the prompt, “what got you through it?” What got me thought that chapter was knowing I could do better by myself because I have done better by myself—multiple times in the past! I never experienced unnecessary hardship nor met so many people in struggle love relationships and people in fake marriages until he introduced that world to me.

Although I do regret him and our relationship, I do love and am thankful for my fur babies Tiger and Rachel.
