Guy is murdered, “friends?” set up GoFundMe to collect money but the cash won’t go to his family, won’t pay for funeral expenses or be used to create a college scholarship.

The money will be used for his friends to take off work.

My first thought is that we live in a free country and people can do whatever they want. And if others want to donate to this cause, so be it.

My second thought is that, what would people in the before time think of us? Instead of creating a program/scholarship/park/memorial/initiative in his name, Ryan’s legacy was used to solicit donations so his friends could get out of work.

Who would want to be remembered for that?
