[This is arguably the most important note I’ve written. Please share it. It breaks down the problem and my longer post offers a solution.]
On the nature of controlled perception.
What is it? It’s a technique used to influence and control individual and public perception. A technique that is way more effective than straight up antiquarian propaganda which is still used in good measure. In today’s world, the two work together, seamlessly.
Controlled perception isn’t about using brute force, it’s about shaping what people see so that their own minds walk them to the conclusion that someone else wants for them. It’s about subtle influence. See how that works?
Our world is now seen and experienced through controlled screens, and if you’re not paying attention with complete conscious awareness, the screen becomes the lens through which you see the world — and the feed becomes the world itself. That’s why two people can live in the same country while inhabiting completely different realities. Each is certain they’re awake, when, in truth, both are inside engineered dreams — false realities.
So how does it work?
Every human nervous system is a feedback loop: we act to keep our experience matching what feels true.
Think of a human being as a biological computer — a living computer model if you will. If you can influence the inputs — what people notice, fear, or desire — or redefine what “should” feel true for them, then they’ll adjust their behavior automatically and even believe it was their own idea.
That’s how perception becomes the perfect leash that’s invisible, voluntary, and completely self-reinforcing.
It works through rhythm and relevance.
The system learns what holds your attention, what spikes your emotion, and what you scroll past without thought — without paying attention with conscious awareness.
That data then trains algorithms that predict what will keep you hooked, then feed you more of it. It’s not done to inform, but to entrain. And the result is an environment that doesn’t need to argue or persuade; it simply designs the invisible air you breathe, the light you see, and the meaning you assign to the world.
See how that works? See how that’s the reality we’re all in at the present moment?
And because you’re operating mostly on auto-pilot and are not 100% conscious of yourself, that is, operating in pure conscious awareness of everything you do, the technique works most effectively and rather surreptitiously. You have no awareness of its existence. It works subtly in the background shaping your every decision.
Governments use it for influence and control.
Corporations use it for profit and predictability. But it’s the tech platforms who run it at planetary scale as the quiet architects of the modern mind.
The intelligence community mapped the blueprint and Silicon Valley operationalized it by turning it into software better than any government agency like DARPA could produce. So, the CIA’s venture capital division invested in Facebook, Google, Palantir, etc. All of them. It’s a partner in all of the major VC firms. That’s how it works. What you didn’t know?
Does that frighten you? Good. Integrate your shadow and then the shadow of the world will no longer scare you. Don’t be an adult child.

The managing directors at the major VC firms are essentially intelligence assets. They are spies, just like diplomats. That’s what that word really means. It’s just a fancy euphemism for espionage and secret agents.
Back to how the algorithm is used to program and influence you.
What began as covert psychological operations evolved into engagement metrics, behavioral ads, and predictive feeds. And while old propaganda came in posters, leaflets and speeches, today’s propaganda comes in notifications, scroll loops, and “recommended for you” tabs. Sure, we still have speeches, but they’re merely the icing on the cake. They’re no longer the delicious filling.
The method is simple: confuse, overwhelm, then offer clarity.
And this is precisely how intelligence agents interrogate suspects. They confuse them. Then they overwhelm them with information and sensory overload. Only afterwards do they provide clarity with a key piece of information.
And it works because clinical, neural and cognitive sciences know that when the mind is overstimulated, and the brain is flooded with contradictions or endless noise, it grasps for the first stable meaning it can find. Therefore, if you can slip in a narrative in that key moment, you can bypasses critical thought altogether.
That’s exactly why confusion has become an industry. The chaos we are seeing is not some accidental glitch, it’s engineered into the very design of the very thing. That’s how it works. Once people find relief in a clean explanation, they cling to it, defending the very story that programmed them.
It’s basically the equivalent of digital Stockholm syndrome.
They will hold on to that paradigm even if it means life or death. That’s the power of cognitive dissonance.
This is precisely how Peter Thiel’s Palantir works to influence society en masse by analyzing and predicting behavior across populations to quietly steer public perception and policy outcomes.
Lately, Peter Thiel has made headlines with his NYT interview and investor speeches featuring his thoughts on the Anti-Christ.
Again, it’s all about confusion — that’s the technique.
Flood the brain with noise, contradictions, and novelty until it reaches for meaning. And it will. Then, offer a clean narrative in that precise moment. And because the person is completely disoriented, grasping for “control”, the idea slides in completely unchallenged. The person accepts it as their own conclusion. That’s how one gains unfettered access to the mind.
And so, that’s how confusion becomes the doorway and clarity becomes the new cage.
Controlled perception works because people don’t control reality — they control their experience of it. And if you can change the framing or timing of what they see, then you can rewrite their sense of truth.
But truth is objective and universal, and while it may be paradoxical only on the surface, it’s most certainly not personal.
That’s also exactly why two people can share a street yet live in radically different worlds — and this is precisely what is happening today, especially after Covid.
The only way out is awareness: to slow down, set your own references, and see how the game works before it keeps playing you.
The only way out of this Matrix is to see reality ‘as it is’… truly. The only way to awaken from this control Matrix is to break its spell. You’ll have to become unspellbound.
Plus, there’s no single “villain” pulling strings — the machine runs on its own momentum. Algorithms optimize for engagement; engagement creates data; data refines prediction; prediction tightens control.
Every click sharpens the model. And as the system learns faster, the push becomes softer, subtler, and that much harder to detect. It doesn’t need to force your compliance, it simply makes you desire the very path already drawn out for you. And you accept it as your own. These tactics are right out of Edward Bernays’ book called Propaganda — only they’ve been highly perfected and digitized.
So… awareness.
That is the only antidote. Awareness.
Conscious Awareness.
You have to set your own reference points before the system does it for you.
Decide what matters, see what’s really true, and what kind of world you want to create based on reality itself… reality ‘as it is’ which includes the metaphysical and what’s known as a non-physical reality.
You’ll have to slow your inputs. Diversify your sources. Notice when something feels engineered. And you’ll have to cultivate your inner knowing to achieve all this. How? By way of intuition. You’ll need to grow your intuition.
Because whoever controls perception controls the story — and whoever controls the story, controls the world.
And that’s exactly what we’re seeing today.
Get to work.
