I need to decide whether to do the narration for the audio version of our book, or hire a professional for it. I have conflicting intuitions about this — I generally like to delegate things to experts where I can, but it’s a fairly personal book and it feels kind of strange to have someone else reading it. It’s not quite memoir but it’s not not-memoir, either. When you’re listening to nonfiction with a personal bent, do you care whether it’s the voice of the author on it?
