Pezeshkian: Iran's firm will is to continue legitimate and powerful defense against any aggression

Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Mr. Abdul Latif Rashid, President of Iraq, exchanged views in a phone conversation regarding regional developments following the military aggression of the Zionist regime and the United States against Iran.

In this conversation, the President, referring to the support of the Iranian people for the armed forces and the country's security guardians, praised the amazing and historic resistance of the nation and the powerful armed forces of our country against the inhumane and illegal aggression of the American-Zionist enemies and emphasized Iran's firm determination and will to continue legitimate and powerful defense against any aggression.

Pezeshkian appreciated and thanked the principled positions of the government, the dear nation, and the great religious authority of Iraq in supporting Iran and their condolences on the occasion of the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and other Iranian officials and citizens.

The President, emphasizing Iran's right to legitimate defense in targeting American centers and bases that are the origin of aggression against Iran's territory, called for vigilance and caution regarding the conspiracies of the United States and the Zionist regime, which seek to sow discord and sedition among Muslim countries by arming and employing terrorist groups and using the territories of neighbors to attack Iran.

Pezeshkian, recalling the principled stance of the martyred leader of the Islamic Revolution against any nuclear weapons, expressed hope that conditions will be created for Muslim countries in the region to take steps toward regional peace and stability without interference from foreigners and warmongers.

Pezeshkian condemned the attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime on the military and security positions of Iraq and emphasized Iran's readiness for greater interaction and cooperation with Iraq and welcomed the Iraqi counterpart's visit to Tehran at an appropriate opportunity.

The President of Iraq also expressed in this conversation the condolences of the government, nation, and parliament of Iraq on the martyrdom of Ayatollah al-Uzma Khamenei, the martyred leader, military commanders, senior officials, and a number of Iranian citizens in the military aggression by the United States and the Zionist regime to the esteemed leader of the revolution, the president, government, and people of Iran.

Abdul Latif Rashid strongly condemned the aggressive attacks of the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran and emphasized Iraq's solidarity with the Iranian national resistance against these aggressive actions.
