It's on coffee mugs, motivational posters, gym walls. People use it to mean God wants them to 10x their business or close the big deal.
Paul wrote that verse from prison. Not a palace. A cell.
The verses right before it: "I have learned to be content whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want."
The verse is about the strength to endure, not the power to get whatever you want. Losing your job and not losing hope. Being locked up and still trusting God.
Most people quote the fragment that sounds like permission, not the one that sounds like surrender.
