Justice Thomas, in perhaps the greatest irony in the history of the Supreme Court, returns to the logic of Justice Taney in the totally discredited and infamous Dredd Scott decision. Of course, Uncle Thomas is black to add the absurdity. In Dredd Scott, Chief Justice Taney held only whites could be citizens. Thomas now embellishes on Dredd Scott saying the 14th Amendment only applies to whites and freed slaves or their progeny. Again, citizenship based on race. Justice Thomas dissent is a total disgrace. Justice Jackson in a concurring opinion hit the nail on the head. Thomas is perhaps the worst Justice in the history of the Court but Justice Alito is giving him a run for his money. And Chief Justice Roberts burned Allito’s horrible dissent in Robert’s majority opinion in the birthright citizenship case.
