I am a psychologist and I have published over 40 peer-revewed papers. Review process is crap. Editors send manuscripts out to 2 or 3 people and if they like it they tell you how to revise the paper, you make the changes, and then it gets published. It promotes conformity; it is very hard to publish something novel.
