I’m going to comment on two other losses... first, record stores. You could go and listen to a variety of records. It is how I discovered both The Moody Blues and Blood, Sweat and Tears. An album was an experience beyond the auditory; cover/sleeve art was an experience in and of itself. Second: brick and mortar music stores. With all the instruments, not just guitars and drums. I remember “Pureacures” local music store, and listening to an accordion, a lute, and a trumpet being played in 3 different “sound rooms”. I was just there to buy a marching lyre and walked out with the lyre, 2 music books, and Bob Dylan style Harmonica holder.
