Back to my Kharkiv coffee shenanigans. Today’s task is to write a fairytale about the ethics of fieldwork in a war zone for PhDs. These days many international anthropologists are struggling to convince their institutions in the necessity to do research in Ukraine and other precarious environments. I think that research on the ground helps test and discard many misconceptions and is essential, with necessary precautions, of course. So I need to write a real convincing fairytale 😅.
