It feels like everything I’m thinking about returns again and again to attention
rituals producing sacred objects? condensed representation of what we want to pay attention to
good art? an encapsulated world of one particular way of paying attention, into which you as the viewer can step into
jungian cognitive functions? the weights that determine what we pay the most attention to over our lives that creates consistent patterns of problems
superstitions? attention shapers to remind you of what’s important
awakened awareness? that which becomes unveiled through placing attention on direct experience and noticing what remains across all instances of attention
cultivating taste? “… a commitment to a state of attention” (Wolfson)
