🚨 Davie504 | 13.4M SUB CREATOR ON VERGE OF DELETION
YouTuber & Bass guitarist Davie504 just dropped a bombshell! YouTube gave him a copyright strike for playing Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata.
Yes, BEETHOVEN. Public domain for CENTURIES.
A random music label claimed ownership of a piece written in 1801. Davie504 disputed it. YouTube sided with the label and gave him a strike.
2 more and his 14-year channel vanishes forever.
He showed receipts; 14 million views in 5 days earned him $10 USD. Not $10K. Ten dollars.
He said the YouTube algorithm is ruthless now!
Long-form videos (days of work) = zero views. Random 5-minute shorts = millions of views. No rhyme or reason.
He says
"I can afford to deal with these problems because I'm a big channel. If this happens to smaller channels, they're screwed hard. And if this happened to me, it's 100% happening to smaller channels too."
This isn't about one YouTuber; it's about systematic platform decay. When a 13M+ creator can be copyright struck for public domain classical music, when millions of views generate lunch money, when algorithms reward quantity over craft... If YouTube can't protect its top creators from false claims and broken monetization, what's the endgame? More shorts, less substance, until everyone moves to Patreon?
🫵🏼 What do YOU think? Have YOU noticed YouTube favouring shorts over long-form?
