Make money doing the work you believe in

Yeah this is a lot of theoretical and idealistic bullshit tbh.

A. This community self-policing you imagine requires a culture of cooperative mutual surveillance and if that sounds contradictory, filled with holes for abusers to exploit, and something that would require decades of work to establish even in small amounts, then you hit the nail on the head! This is why your theory is anti-revolutionary; it’s evolutionary. This kind of change cannot be done in short order. If we have to figure out how to create authority-less post-revolution society before the revolution, then it will never start.

B. There are no restorative approaches to be had with current “leadership” because they’ve publicly divulged themselves to be a giant pedo ring of corpo-funded murderers and I’ll be happy to see them dead.

C. Your anti-specialization politic is anti-intellectual and I find it strange. Do you think forensic science, for example, is a hoax? How can a community hold each other accountable without specialists who help determine the most likely sequence of events? In your scenarios, reputation ends up becoming authority; “pillar of the community” Mr. Cat would never have assaulted Mr. Mouse! Or you have specialists who do investigations and they’re endowed “authority” by the nature of their scientific expertise; then this field would naturally attract abusers, in your view.

The emergence of authority isn’t avoidable unless communities are flat and there are no flat societies.

Even if I’m wrong about that and your (non)system is feasible, trying to get all that perfect before we eliminate the capitalist system actively destroying the people and the planet seems like a waste of time.
