There is no constitutional support for “Martial Law,” only the president’s use of deploying troops. There is no Supreme Court precedent for Trump to have this kind of power. Any action he takes similar to Martial Law would be subject to judicial review, and in case you’re thinking, “wait, Trump doesn’t give a shit about the courts!” You’re correct - which leads us to the most important aspect of why this isn’t likely: states still have control over, well, their own STATES’ RIGHTS.
