When you drink cold and dry Asahi Super Dry beer at the top of the Asahi building, you get to see strange things — rivers, boats on rivers. In August, every photographer in the city angles for this window, waiting for fireworks to strike them on the foreheads of big lenses. In my case, I’ve completely forgotten the pictures but haven’t forgotten the beer. I had too many of them and now can’t quite recall why I have green and blue in my chef-d’œuvre of panorama pictures of Asakusa. Grey — that’s the standard for Tokyo.
