I’m not saying I’m an Alan Bennett obsessive but I did book his table at Betty’s for lunch in Ilkley between meetings yesterday. His latest book, Enough Said, is wonderfully life-affirming.
Yorkshire, as well as being a literary capital of the UK, is a magnet for public relations brainpower and creativity. The economic centre of the industry may be London, but talent and brilliant work is distributed. The impact of Leeds Beckett University on a generation and more of practitioners is noteable.
It was great to catchup with Ralph Tench for a morning walk on Ilkley Moor (new book due in November, PhD to follow) and Anita Morris and the talented team at Animo (more brilliant work to follow).
