Somebody wrote me and said “you revealed yourself as a leftist.” What does that even mean?

I want my kids to have access to universal healthcare.

I want my kids to have access to universal education.

I want our society to be dedicated to humanitarian principles.

People say “revealed” as if these are bad ambitions. I contend that NOT supporting any of these objectives should be something you’d want to keep quiet about yourself.
