Today I learned a new word, while looking up a synonym on an online thesaurus for work.

I remember the days of flipping through my pocket dictionary/thesaurus as a teen, writing essays for my English Literature class in college (high school senior for the American readers). I loved English, but my heart was set on Veterinary Science so I had a heavy maths and science load too. I wonder where I would’ve ended up had I just followed that thread. I almost topped the year for English, pipped at the post by my best friend. After all my hard work I never made it into Veterinary Science! Missed out by about 5 percent. At the time I was devastated, but as an older, wiser individual now I think that was for the best.

Anyway, I digress, my word of the day today, courtesy of thesarus.com, which feels wrong in itself for NOT being the actual written word, is DIVAGATE which means…

“to wander or stray”

It shares its Latin routes with the word Vagabond.

I think the universe is trying to tell me something.

Yesterday I took a wander on my beach, and marvelled at the debris washed up on the shore from recent storms. Such a beautiful reminder of what heals me…

Wandering, exploring, being present, the ocean, and my lunatic dogs who kept photo bombing my scenery shots.
