As Christians, we are no longer bound by sin, because Christ has already broken its claim on us (Romans 6:6, ESV).
There are times when you sit at the computer and feel the tug toward porn, a curse slips out or something else that has a hold on you.
You decide to hide it.
You ask God for forgiveness, and then you return to it because it feels good.
That’s what it looks like to live when sin still has a hold on you.
When that desire returns, and you choose to get up from the computer, your taking a different path.
When we bring our struggle into the light with a spouse or a godly friend, we’re living what John describes — that those who walk in the light find cleansing and fellowship (1 John 1:7, ESV).
We ask God for forgiveness and keep moving.
We turn away from sin because Christ has set us free, and we don’t have to carry guilt anymore (Romans 8:1, ESV).
