Loved this essay and being reminded of fish tacos at the end! They fell off the weekly rotation when I forgot how much we like them, so added them back, and I will try your chipotle crema. It takes time to establish a split of duties when one partner knows nothing about cooking, tried and simply ruined the food.

So now, I plan, he does all the shopping, I cook, and he does all the dishes. He also is 100% responsible for cleaning the house, which I hate. So I think it's pretty even now. I am not in the generation of those who don't cook at all. I didn't start until I was in my thirties, but I learned little by little. I love food too much not to cook :-)
