"If you want to go for a run, go for a run, don't look for company.
Sooner or later, on your fifth run or your twentieth, like-minded people will find you themselves."
And only recently have I realised that this principle works everywhere.
You made it, you own it
You always own your intellectual property, mailing list, and subscriber payments. With full editorial control and no gatekeepers, you can do the work you most believe in.
I liked this article. It reminded me when I visited a religious university in Oklahoma. I was not a Christian at that time. It was around 1975. Included in the visit was a basketball game at the coliseum. It was a fine basketball game. Upon leaving the coliseum I saw holy spirit trinkets and such for sale. I thought it was a bit cheesey. Went up in a prayer tower that was just a commercial about the university. The non believing public will see it for what it is.
