After I finally finish reading Wuthering Heights (it’s such a depressing, hateful slog), I’m considering three novels and would like to put them to a vote based only on their first lines.
Here they are:
“The elevator resembles a birdcage.”
“Alicia Berenson was thirty-three years old when she killed her husband.”
“It’s quite possible you’ve never spoken to a typewriter before.”
