Just because I am more quiet about the things I’m “against” and don’t use my spaces to constantly vocalize it doesn’t mean I don’t care or lack passion. And just because others might be more vocal about things they’re “against” and use their spaces to constantly vocalize it doesn’t make them more caring or passionate than me.
The world needs the very vocal activists as much as it needs the quiet mystical artists who direct their energies towards imagining a better, brighter world through art, writing, prayer, meditation, curiosity, etc.
We don’t need a world where everyone looks the same; we need a world where people listen to the still voice inside that will lead them to love and exercise compassion in their own way.
And so may we honor how each other follows that voice rather than shame each other for not following that voice in the way we think it should be followed.
… Namaste (the Divine in me bows to the Divine in you).
