Ernst Jünger’s Eumeswil is heavier on philosophy than on fiction, but this novel is now one of my top 10. I do not agree with every aspect of his "anarch" archetype, but I believe it is one of the most profound odes to individual sovereignty since Epictetus walked the earth.
