Two Illinois shoppers are suing Walmart over what its phone line does with their voices. The complaint says the AI system pulls out pitch, cadence and tone, builds a template that can identify the caller later, and the only warning callers hear is that calls may be recorded for business purposes including fraud prevention.
Recording a call and building a voiceprint are two different collections. If you do the second one, name it and get the written consent. A line buried in a privacy policy is not notice.
