While OpenAI is doing its “12 Days Of Open AI” thing and releasing many tools for paid users, Google quietly made a few powerful modes available in its Google AI Studio for free.

You should be able to test them right now.

The first is "Talk To Gemini," where you can have a real-time voice conversation. This isn't particularly new since we've already had that with the regular Gemini, Pi, ChatGPT voice mode, etc.

But two video-related options are truly new and very fun.

One of them is called "Show Gemini" and lets it see your webcam, so you can show it items and locations in the real world and discuss those.

The second one is "Share your screen," which lets Gemini become a voice copilot for browsing the web or doing things on your computer.

How to access

To access any of the above, do this:

1. Go to Google AI Studio (aistudio.google.com)

2. If not already, set up or log in with your Google account.

3. Click on "Stream Realtime" option in the left-hand column.

4. Pick one of the three new features to interact with them.

I recorded two quick videos of me using the two modes (see the video)

You can also use the “Webcam” option directly from your smartphone, which makes it even more practical, as you can show Gemini the world around you as you walk through the streets, etc.

What practical use cases can you immediately see being enabled by this?

How might you personally use these powers in your daily life or work?
