You don't have to watch the shit games in any sport. If you play two games a day, you allow for the viewers to decide, the tournament is still short, and it gives us more chances of massive upsets, which are great in big tournaments. Do I really need to go through all the major upsets to prove this? Scotland, PNG, the Netherlands, and Oman are all teams that could win a T20 match against a good opposition. UAE too if they get their act together. HK were up there not that long ago. If we keep playing them, keep ensuring that cricket grows, we'll have 20 good teams, 20 years ago you could argue we had eight good teams, now we have 12, in five years it should be 16. The top six teams in the basketball, soccer and Rugby world cup almost always win. No one is expecting Oman to win the tournament, nor Australia to win the football world cup or Nigeria to win the basketball world cup. But a world cup is not just about who wins, it is about getting new fans, growing the game, showing that our sport can be played in so many different ways. Igniting fires and starting new eras. And most importantly, it should be for the world. It's a showcase. Without the World Cup Sri Lanka wouldn't be here, nor Bangladesh or Ireland, Zimbabwe as well. They proved they were cricket nations by competing and winning at World Cups. They have all given magical things to our sport, to think that they shouldn't be invited to a tournament that is for the best cricket teams in the world because they may not win is so endlessly idiotic. It's like inviting only 8 people to the 100metre final. You are missing the magic of what a world cup is, it's as important to Aasif Karim as it is to Ricky Ponting.
