900,000 people donated to the National Park Foundation thinking their money was going to the parks, but Trump turned it into a personal slush fund selling $1 million photo ops with the president while the parks themselves hemorrhage rangers.

Congress appropriated $150 million for America’s 250th birthday and sent it to the official bipartisan commission. $100 million got rerouted to Trump’s parallel entity instead, with no vote, no disclosure, and a Foundation president who promised Congress he’d hide the donors’ names.

Meanwhile, NPS has lost more than a quarter of its workforce, the FY27 budget cuts park operations by $736 million, and a $10 billion “Presidential Capital Stewardship Program” is routed through the same starving agency to fund the ballroom, the arch, and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool paint job.
