Hirado is a small town in Japan that, to me, is best known for being the one of the settings for James Clavell’s novel “Shogun”. I visited there in early April on my way from Nagasaki to Fukuoka, and spent 3 days. It’s a quaint town with sleepy streets. The tourist office handled my boat check-in; they’re next to the ferry terminal that brings in a healthy number of daytime visitors. I ate delicious meals at several affordable restaurants, and took in the beautiful sights and sounds.
