When a clip of Benjamin Netanyahu addressing the nation was posted to social media this week, the internet went into melt down when eagle-eyed sleuths noticed the Israeli Prime Minister appeared to be sporting six fingers - a clear sign the official video may have been AI generated. The theory was swiftly debunked by fact-checkers and online verification tools - the optical illusion was nothing more than a trick of perspective, they said.

But no amount of debunking could stop rumours circulating that Netanyahu had died, a story that snowballed after US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent was called away during a live interview, only to return two hours later looking visibly shaken, which some speculated may have been because he’d just received news of Bebe’s death. 

While Iranian media and social posts have repeatedly claimed that Netanyahu and his family have been harmed in attacks, Netanyahu’s office has been quick to dismiss the rumors, offering images of him - alive and well - visiting a port in the city of Ashdod on March 10. But critics pointed out that the photographer who took those photos works for the Israeli government - no independent journalists were present to verify Netanyahu’s physical presence at the event.

Fueling further speculation, Netanyahu took questions from reporters on March 12 for the first time since the war in Iran started, but he did so not in person but via Zoom from an undisclosed location, with no journalist able to physically verify his status. Sceptics have noted that Netanyahu has not been seen in person by anyone not on his payroll for at least a week.

In the midst of the swirling rumours came a post from a Turkish journalist who claimed that Netanyahu had been struck by an Iranian missile while in hiding on March 2, induced into a coma, and quietly flown to Germany after every other European nation declined to receive him, a claim bolstered by reports the “Wing of Zion” plane has been seen this week in Berlin, but contradicted by reports the plane landed there on March 1. Irrespective, the journalist further claimed that Netanyahu died on March 11.

While it’s still unclear what the truth is on the ground, there’s a story playing out in the sky that’s worth examining carefully, because whatever is true or false in the external narrative, Netanyahu's chart is not behaving like a man who is fine.

On March 2, Uranus was squaring Netanyahu’s Mars - that’s physical shock to the body, something sudden and extreme. Jupiter was sextile natal Saturn - that’s life support, the chart of a man whose systems are holding under enormous pressure - and square natal Neptune -  that’s fog and illusion, the kind of aspect under which a story that feels true spreads far and fast, whether or not it is. But his chart in the days that followed held no clear signature of death - just lots of fog, as Neptune trined his natal Fortune and Sun opposed his natal Midheaven, ensuring the public image the world received was suitably filtered, and the authentic person was hidden from public view, while something occupied the public stage in his name. Mars square natal Chiron showed the wound acute, the body compromised, and the vulnerability unresolved.

The sky on the day the “six-fingered” video was released described a man whose direct, unmediated presence was not what the world was receiving. Something stood between him and the camera - the six fingers, in that context, was Neptune leaving its fingerprints on the forgery; the tell in the seam.

On March 15, Neptune reaches exact conjunction with natal Fortune in Netanyahu’s chart - that’s maximum constructed reality over the public face. Mercury squaring his natal Ascendant suggest something being communicated about him, while Mars passing Ascendant square shows physical pressure on the self crested, while Jupiter sextile natal Saturn remains - a thread of structural survival running beneath the chaos. Whatever is happening to this man, the architecture that keeps him alive has not yet released him.

The skies don’t confirm or deny what Israeli or Iranian media wish us to believe - they simply describe a man who sustained genuine physical shock in an external event, whose public presence has been operating under maximum Neptunian mediation, whose body remains under acute pressure, and whose survival structures have held, consistently, this past week.
