A lot of talking heads are focused on which party is getting hurt most by this shutdown. That’s fine—but it misses the bigger picture.

The only way out now is to let the usual suspects do what they’re going to do. What we (the people out here just trying to keep our democracy) need to focus on is how to make sure this doesn’t happen again.
