A quick intro post to say hello!
I’m Jeremy Caplan.
I write Wonder Tools, a newsletter exploring the most useful new sites & apps. My aim is to help those of us who work in front of a screen to make the most of new tech to save time & work creatively + productively.
I live in NYC with my wife and 2 daughters (7 & 10); I grew up in Boston and Chicago.
Day job: I’m Director of Teaching & Learning at CUNY’s Newmark Graduate School of Journalism in New York City, where we’re shaping an educational path for the next generation of impactful journalists.
I also direct the 100-day Entrepreneurial Journalism Creators Program, which provides a boost to independent writers and other creatives around the world developing impactful and sustainable new ventures to serve niche communities with newsletters, podcasts, and other new journalistic products & services.

I started Wonder Tools early in the pandemic period in part to adopt a beginner mindset and to learn to be a creator in this new ecosystem.
