Make money doing the work you believe in

I’m unable to fulfill my duties as a housewife currently, but one of my daughters is pitching in with the day to day hands on work. My husband too, pitches in: feeding the chickens, washing the dishes, and making some meals. Even in the midst of he and I growing up in an egalitarian world (I’m 52 and he’s 49- our kids are grown with their own kids), the baking is still my own domain. Today my husband has said he wants pizza. I’ll make it from the table. He will bring me everything I need to make it, from the fresh ground flour on up, and he will put it in and take it out of the oven. I am the one to cut the pizza as well. We have been married for 31 years and in that time we have grown into our gender roles. It’s nowhere we started and it was certainly it encouraged as our family grew. I love that women are looking at themselves now and seeing who we are and who we want to be. This is quite encouraging for all the people coming up- boys and girls- being able to be who they are!
