Two Monks:

Two monks saw a woman crying at a wide puddle. The elder monk lifted her, carried her across, and continued walking. Hours later, the younger monk said, “We are forbidden to touch women.”

The elder smiled. “I set her down hours ago. You are still carrying her.”

Moral: Release the past; do not let it burden your present.

दो भिक्षुओं ने एक चौड़ी पोखर के पास एक स्त्री को रोते हुए देखा। बड़े भिक्षु ने उसे उठाया, पोखर पार कराया और आगे बढ़ गए। घंटों बाद, छोटे भिक्षु ने कहा, “हमें स्त्रियों को छूना मना है।”

बड़े भिक्षु मुस्कुराए। “मैंने उसे घंटों पहले नीचे रख दिया था। तुम अब भी उसे उठाए हुए हो।”

उपदेश: अतीत को भूल जाओ; उसे अपने वर्तमान पर बोझ न बनने दो।
