I wish I could say this wasn’t true but it explains so much. It explains why pro-Palestinian friends of mine absolutely lost their shit at me for posting tepid denouncements of antisemitism. How could that possibly generate so much antagonism unless uncompromising hostility is their ultimate goal?

In contrast, I recently attended a talk on antisemitism and the Jews in attendance absolutely drowned me in effusive gratitude just for attending. They knew virtually nothing about me except that I was a gentile who was present, and apparently that was more than enough. I found that very very sad.
