Make money doing the work you believe in

There's a virus spreading through NGOs, expert organizations, and think tanks (and well beyond).

It's called the LinkedIn Bragging Virus.

Symptoms?

  1. Most of your social media content is colleagues smiling at workshops. Your comms manager is always asking for selfies.

  2. Newsletter = social media digest. It repeats what was already posted. No depth, no additional layer of thinking.

  3. Every post announces something, without explaining why it matters.

  4. Beautiful pull quotes, designed for likes and stripped of any context that would make any sense.

  5. Statistics without interpretation: "1,000 participants at our conference!"

The most dangerous thing about the virus?

It mimics expert communications and looks great in reports.
