Being an empath is not a personality trait. It is an energetic design feature.

I see this constantly in Human Design readings. Someone with a completely open Emotional Solar Plexus walks in and says "I am an empath."

Technically, yes. You are designed to sample and amplify the emotional energy around you. That is real. That is in your chart.

But here is where the spiritual community gets it wrong. They romanticize the sensitivity without teaching the skill.

Feeling everything is not the gift. Knowing what is yours versus what you absorbed is the gift. One makes you a sponge. The other makes you wise.

If you leave every social interaction drained, that is not being empathic. That is being unprotected. And there is a difference between those two things that changes everything.

Your open centers in Human Design are not weaknesses. They are classrooms. But only if you stop treating them as identity.
