Agreed, a beautiful and powerful piece. My only quibble is over the word "Christian": It seems to me that they are not acting in the spirit of Christ. Is that perception wrong?
The spirit of Christ in a nice aspiration.
The reality is the biblical god, full of hate and spite and retribution.
They are certainly the children of that god
Major difference between:
A) the Old Testament God: ”eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth”, or “thou shalt not suffer a witch in o live”, &
B) the New Testament Christ’s much more modern game theory: “turn the other cheek” or, “ love thy neighbor” or, ”greater love hath no man than this, that he lay his life down for another”.
Christianity is a radical New Testament story, and in a one sentence summary, it points to a more sophisticated conflict response, & identifies a superior game theory for modern conflicts, than “hitting back” (when increasingly many parties have or soon will have, WMD).
Similarly contra-posed are followers of Christ and followers of Trump.
