I spent three and a half years in conscious communities. Eco-villages in Costa Rica. The Bali circuit.
Recently I went back. And something felt off. Not emotionally—structurally.
Community language masking power asymmetry. "We don't want ownership" said by people who don't have any. Spiritual framing replacing accountability—but not power dynamics.
I'm not anti-spiritual. I'm anti-chaos masquerading as transcendence.
The pendulums of romanticized formlessness want you to believe structure is the enemy. But a well-ordered life isn't less spiritual—it's the only container in which spirituality can actually bear fruit.
