In my research, solar systems (assuming they were paid for up front, not "leased" to the homeowner which is yet another type of "solar scam" I've read about) do add some value to a home. However, in MY research), it seemed unrealistic to recover the investment of a solar + battery system on the sale of a home, even for a system that's relatively new, such as < 5 years old. It's a selling point... but nowhere near the selling point of, say, a newly remodeled kitchen.
