Please read this whole article, but I highlighted this quote to tell a funny story. One time was invited to drinks with a several successful male writers.* Toward the end of the night the more loquacious man said to me, “You are a wonderful conversationalist!”

I had said close to nothing the whole night. I was just listening to the conversation around me since I was the novice. Does conversation with men mean not speaking? Also, the guy projected his own politics on me and assumed I agreed with him the whole time.

Does this happen to every woman? It certainly seems to have happened to this writer, and I’ve experienced similar situations as to what she’s described.
