Nourishment is a Devotion
What does nourishment mean to you?
Is it something that you do with intention?
What would the world look like if we all chose to devote ourselves just a little bit more to real nourishment?
Food is a big part of it of course, but it’s so much bigger than that. For me:
Music is nourishment.
Creativity is nourishment.
Community is nourishment.
Self expression is nourishment.
Cooking is nourishment.
Art is nourishment.
Laughter is nourishment.
Crying is nourishment.
Adventure is nourishment.
Stillness is nourishment.
Nature is nourishment.
Gardening is nourishment.
Beauty is nourishment.
Serving others is nourishment.
Rest is nourishment.
I could go on but even just reading these back something softens even more in my body.
And it feels good.
For so long I believed I had to work, suffer or sacrifice in order to deserve anything pleasurable, but now I understand - life IS pleasure when we choose to allow it in. And this is more a remembering in my body more than it is permission.
It all adds up to a beautiful life. A beautiful space we’re all creating. And by allowing ourselves to just be nourished by it all makes it that much sweeter. That much more meaningful.
What is nourishment for you? How can you make it something that you devote yourself to?
