You know what? I agree with you! I feel the same. Regulus IS the heart of Leo. But Western Astrological thought says Regulus has moved. I am putting on my reading glasses for a deep dive, now, into Vedic.

Also - I bought the book you recommended regarding the real zodiac. But it arrived from Amazon smelling like chemicals. Like air freshener or something? Anyway, once I get a fresh copy I can read without gagging, I am on my way to a deeper merge with Vedic astrology. I am noticing the predictive world of astrology with Vedic is a smoother path. I will need to hire you to tutor me, though. :)

This is a fantastic look at Venus Retrograde. Venus going direct over fixed Star Regulus is extremely interesting.

Hi Clara, thanks! It will actually station retrograde (not direct) within two degrees of Regulus which is at 6 degrees of sidereal Leo. In 2015 (July 25) Venus stationed retrograde even closer to Regulus, within one degree. Around that time there were plenty of wars, crimes, armed conflicts and disasters. According to Robson, Venus with Regulus represents unexpected happenings and violence.

I’m still in Western Astrology Land! But I was just looking at Venus Retrograde/Direct from the Western Perspective and it’s close proximity to Regulus in it’s motion this fall. There are a lot of big names on the world stage with Regulus in their charts. Which explains why, when Venus goes retrograde and direct over this point, it affects events around the world. The timing is interesting because I’ve heard concerns about violence in America and it lines up with the timing people are concerned about.

I’m going to have to start comparing the timing of events in the Vedic vs. Western system. I’m sure you will convert me before the end of this year!

Here is my article about Regulus and this season’s Venus Retrograde.

Also, I think I needed to be more clear. In Western Astrology, Venus will leave it’s shadow at 28 degrees Leo on Oct 7. In Western Astrology, Regulus is now in Virgo. At that point, Venus is moving direct over Regulus Oct. 9. I need to take a look at how this differs in the Vedic system to get a better understanding of the two systems with how this times out.

I understand, thanks but I disagree that the fixed stars move into different signs. The fixed stars are fixed in place. Regulus is always in the heart of the Leo constellation.
