I love that quote by PJ Harvey! I was painting with my 3-year old niece on FaceTime yesterday. We both use the same colors to make our own paintings. Her wild use of color is gorgeous, and the painting that she did yesterday had a Jason Pollack vibe -- filled with energy and movement. It’s us adults who tend to overthink things, and need to find ways to go back to that fearless freedom of childhood!

I once saw RWH perform, having no idea who he was, and his performance of that song was so captivating- I became an instant fan! An instant fan in disbelief that I’d fallen in love because of a song called Snake Farm! 😅
My husband is a big Tony Bennett fan, and loves the albums with Bill Evans especially. He says they're both good, but he's partial to the second one because of the song "You Must Believe in Spring".
That naivety of children also makes them create without thinking whether it will turn good or bad, whether it will be good to share or good to sell. Kids are just in the moment and don’t even think of these thinks like we do as adults very often
I’m a big fan of Audrey’s ode(s) to oatmeal. I stumbled upon savory oats when I ran out of tofu but really wanted a tofu scramble for breakfast. I figured if sweet mango sticky rice was a thing, why couldn’t a cheesy veggie oatmeal be a thing? It’s a way more versatile food than you’d think!
“Ear worm” is a term I hadn’t heard before this week and this is the second time I’ve heard someone use it in 3 days. Funny how that happens. My latest ear worms have been the chorus from “Green Eyes” by Joseph. I’ve also had “Today is the greatest, Day I’ve ever known” running around in my head for days, but I’m seeing the Pumpkins tonight so maybe it will cure it?
