This was an awesome story to share Jack. I feel like I was on the night dive with you. This interesting balance of terror and wonder.

Lovely storytelling (:

at 75 i have a lot of memories but years of scuba changed my life. night dives were remarkable in every way. but there is just one have-to in diving...just breathe. preferably slow and steady. but calm breathing works above ground just as well.

Gary! Thanks for your comment. Diving is incredible and night dives are especially an amazing experience. It’s a whole other life down there that is mystical and wonderful.

You are absolutely right. In scuba, if you stop breathing bad things will happen. Perhaps this is a lesson, as you point out, we can apply to life on ground too. Just breathe. Slowly and deeply. That will get you through just about anything no matter how hard it may seem.
