GPT is just making my side project extremely exciting and faster to execute. I have created quiz using GPT automation script and have got 20k+ monthly quiz attempts.
I love using GPTs. I have made several for different use cases, such as competitive analysis and user research. Way more powerful than the out of the box ChatGPT experience.
I made a bot that uses Product, Analytical, and Execution Sense along with a large knowledgebase to create PRDs, do competitive analysis, create Roadmaps with Epics & Stories, and act as an expert product colleague and mentor.
It surpassed the capabilities of Open AI's GPTs, so I have a web app instead. In private beta at https://pimm.ai
I feel it needs a lot of help and direction, but once you provide that, ChatGPT is able to do the core 60-70% of the work leaving the final polishing to you.
I work well with my assistant ChatGPT, and - all considered - it's quite a cheap employee!
In the Custom Instructions I am very specific about what type of tone, diction, format, I want it to use when producing responses. This works somehow well, however I find that often I'll have to remind it what format I want.
Also, I play around a lot with prompts. I created a personal bank of prompts I save in Obsidian and I use them every time I'm going through a specific exercise and I need a particular "voice" (I learned a lot from Nicholas Cole and Dickie Bush on these things).
Ultimately, as with all technologies, the more you practice the more you'll find out about it.
- PRDs edge cases: GPT solves me the programming mindset, does red teamming and edge cases that needs to be solved for a feature/product
- (Chain prompting and clarity in writing is prerequisite) One hack I always use is, I'll ask it to create tables and ask it to assign confidence % it has in terms of prioritisation/prediction
For eg. "Find me most unsexy and most inefficient industries where potential of AI disruption is high, creating high profit pools
Present in a table; Industry, why inefficient, AI disruption potential, how can AI disrupt, gross margins, your confidence %"

Love these examples, it is tempting me to build my own custom GPT. I accelerate strategic projects with Human-Centered Strategy and other tools, so a Chatbot would help those that I work with. I'm just not sure whether I want to invest time building in ChatGPT. I've read that Claude Opus (the free version) is generating better results than the paid version of ChatGPT. I tested Claude for the last 2 days and think it is excellent in writing in a more human-like manner, with better more "thoughtful" answers. Any thoughts Lenny or others on which AI is a better bet for custom GPTs?
I do hear Claude is smarter than GPT-4, but that's just until GPT-5 comes out. It'll keep going back and forth. I think the most important thing here is to get comfortable at using these tools, not necessarily be using the top tool at any one time.
The 2nd use case made me wonder how long it will take before my Slack DMs with coworkers morph into chats with GPTs trained on their profiles and preferences. On one hand it would make sense, but obviously a slippery slope in so many other ways. Slippery even when set up with with transparency, consent and the right input.
I've been hesitant to go down the rabbit hole, maybe I will now after seeing so many fantastic use cases that fit within my genre of doing business.

I've been looking to find people who are getting the best out of LLMs and what interesting conversations are they having.
here's how I use GPT proudly:
