To investors, The President of Argentina, Javier Milei, is running one of the largest economic experiments in history. He assumed power with the country experiencing 300%+ inflation and a population that was quickly losing hope that the future could see improvement.
This is an article written without any connection with the reality that people are experiencing. In Argentina there was a drop of more than -45% in construction and -25% in industry as a result of Milei's policies. There are massive layoffs, prices are skyrocketing, people are having serious problems paying for health insurance and rent. The situation is completely desperate and is looming with enormous social collapse and conflict. It is definitely NOT a good time to invest in the country
Honestly from the list of things he did to his country it sounds like the people and society must be suffering massively. All the things he did sound awful for the people. It sounds great for the govt and all, but terrible for the nation and it's people.
You kinda glossed over all the massive hardship his policies must be causing by massively devaluing the currency, increasing unemployment, closing down parts of the govt, getting rid of rights, maternity, severance, etc. A lot of really really bad things for the people of Argentina. Definitely not the model that America should follow lol. That'd be a huge step backwards. America absolutely has a huge financial problem, but those Milei sorts of answers are not solutions but new problems.

The first day of Milei, he gave away 66 billion USD (which is equivalent to 660 billion in the US economy) to the importers by increasing the Government debt in that amount. The excuse? That the subsidiaries of big multinationals had an importing debt because they wanted to take advantage of a preferential exchange rate. He state-ized a private debt, thus validating a subsidized exchange rate for the private sector. In sum, he stole 66 billion from the poor for the rich sucking the government's tits.
He didn't keep his electoral promises, for example, he promised to protect life from conception and 6 May 2024 said to the BBC that removing abortion (which is paid by taxes!) was not in the government platform, when it is written in his political party platform, approved by him!
