Any health agency that won't show thier data, that won't allow discussion, that censors opposing views, that punish professionals in the fields, loses all juridical power.
She has taken over from the health ministry because of their deceit. I 100% support her move.
It is a shame though, that because we can't trust our medical professionals we have to be protected by law makers that may or may not know what they are doing.

I think the concept, beliefs, and application of masking is horrific. It's right up there with how I feel about the so called vaccines.
Utter madness. Let's hope Ms. Smith can prevail. It broke my heart that my grandchildren wore masks for months while at school. The most upsetting thing for me is they didn't seem to mind!
Agree! Seeing children masked was sickening and heartbreaking. My grandchildren wore them as well. One family didn’t seem to mind but my other grandchildren and I shrieked and danced around the store together when we heard the mask mandate was dropped in their district.
While this is certainly good news, keep in mind that politicians mostly care about themselves and their re-election. Smith takes a very sane approach, Meloni in Italy seems reasonable as well, but in general, politicians tend to become corrupt over time. There are always a few exceptions of course, but I don't trust any of them for even half a millisecond.

Masking children has to be the dumbest and most cruel mandate the world has ever seen. Children under the age of 20 have a less than 0.0003% chance of dying from covid.
She's solid but Notley is going to cream her. Two reasons. Notley is clearly out of her mind and seems to be a bit of an abrasive sot. Second, she's good with social media. A winning combination for normie Canadians who can't see if someone is off their rocker.
Smith is up against an irrational mindset and a population that has been thoroughly 'sanitized' to accept the Covid narrative. Canadians have proven to be the perfect Pavlov Dogs.
Another example. A doctor in Ontario named Kaplan-Myrna I believe is her name. All one has to do is listen to her 'arguments' (sheer hysteria) and her eyes exposed by the mask she claims to wear all day long. She's somewhat mentally unstable. Yet, people voted for her to sit on some school board. Good luck with that folks. A paediatrician that embraces the worse of all futile restrictions and endless jabs would worry me but here we are.
It's the same phenomena in the States. Biden was clearly in mental decline during the 2020 run. Yet, people saw fit to vote for him. Now we're seeing it with Fetterman who is in even worse shape. Again, this points to a serious malaise in society if people vote for people who are unfit.
This is because they expunged and spent so much energy on trying to convince themselves that Trump was insane they no longer can see mental illness or cognitive decline when it's staring them in the face.
As an Albertan I would say your statement would be true...if applied to Ontario.
Alberta is NOT like the other provinces, we've always been a bit rebellious when it comes to government, whether in Ottawa or in Edmonton.
Smith won her leadership bid because she specifically made her stance against the covid narrative clear from the very start.
We had 4 years of Notley as Premier and she was a complete disaster, even before covid she ran this province into the ground. She inflated the provincial debt from less that $10 billion to over $50 billion in a province with 4 million people.
Her jobs creation programs only created white collar government jobs by bloating the government bureaucracy while healthcare in the province continued to decline along with the business sector, all while borrowing and spending like a drunken sailor.
She openly sides with all of Justin Trudeau's mandates and policy initiatives, from covid to climate change.
Instead of fighting Trudeau's carbon tax, she came up with her own homegrown version and imposed it before even Trudeau could impose the federal version!
Notley got a lot of attention by being a tyrant where covid was concerned, not only advocating firing public service workers for refusing the vax but she also advocated the creation of Australian style covid quarantine camps! She wanted all "anti-vaxxers" to be forcibly vaxxed or else face confiscation of all assets and forced deportation to the camps and indefinite detention.
You are correct, Notley is nuts and it shows.
Indirect polling suggests the people of Alberta haven't forgotten Notley and the NDP and they certainly don't trust her alliance with Trudeau's Liberals and the Federal NDP.
She's not going to win...

I have shared this with our political class and CMO as well as leading Health Officials----especially after being harassed whilst visiting a relative in hospital yesterday.
So far, I like what I see. I'd love to see accountability for the lock downs and death jabs.
